What is a volunteer at FAI2013 responsible for?  16 hrs of volunteer work at the event plus a current membership will grant you one full individual comped registration for the FAI2013 conference.  We begin utilizing volunteers as early as Monday, February 18th thru the late afternoon of Sunday, February 24.  

What kind of things will I be asked to do?  Volunteer roles are as various as the day is long...and sometimes it is looooong.  They include but are not limited to:  working registration desk, room/showcase monitors, runners, exhibit hall assistants, assist in room set ups, media room attendants, instrument valet, security, etc.  The volunteer coordinator will work as best she can to coordinate a good fit for your talents.  Again, 16 hrs volunteering comps a full individual registration.

How do I sign up? (This is a test...read thoroughly...following directions test) Send an email with 'Volunteer request for FAI2013' in the subject line to  volunteers [at] folk [dot] org.  In the email include your name, email address, and whether or not you have volunteered previously at FAI events.  If you have volunteered previously, please let us know what roles you worked.  If there are others who share your volunteer interests, please direct them to this website.  This is an easy method for us to know if you are good at following directions.  

What are the next steps after completing the test email? Tori, our volunteer guru/coordinator,  will contact you with a personalized link for registering for the event and start working you into the schedule.  Next you can sleep sweetly, dreaming of all the good times and great music that you will hear in Toronto this upcoming February.
